A. Standard Procedures for All Emergencies

1. Incident occurs.

2. First people on the scene decide whether the incident is an emergency (endangers or threatens life or property).

a. If yes 9-911 (or 896-2111) is contacted immediately by the first available person at the scene. Campus Security, if not already at the scene, is contacted by calling 739-1111. Campus Nurse, if available (792-7279), administers emergency aid until EMS arrives. Whenever possible, victims are not left alone. Campus Security directs emergency vehicle(s) on campus.

b. If no , go to step 3.

3. Campus Security will determine whether the emergency involves a student, employee or visitor.

a. If a student, the Dean of Student Affairs (and/or designee) is contacted (792-7277 or 278).

b. If an employee or visitor, the Vice President for Administration and Finance (and/or designee) is contacted (792-7361 or 371).

c. If a visitor, the Vice President for Administration and Finance (and/or designee) is contacted (792- 7361 or 371).

4. Vice President/Dean or designee decides whether the emergency is major or minor .

a. If minor, Vice President, Dean or designee resolves situation and notifies appropriate individuals.

b. If major, Vice President, Dean or designee assembles crisis management team and follows Schreiner University’s procedures

5. Campus Security calls Vice President for Advancement and Public Affairs (792-7204).
