  • The "Golden Rule" applies--It is expected that users in the Computer Lab will extend courtesy and respect to all users, lab assistants, and staff. This includes excessive visiting, loud talk, etc.
  • Food and drink--No food or tobacco products are allowed in the Lab. Drinks are permitted, but please use good judgment and be careful. Accidents or spills could cause expensive damage.
  • Computer Lab Use Policy--The computers in the Computer Lab are available at no charge to students, faculty and staff of Schreiner University (past and present), and their families. When the Lab is crowded, current students have first priority.

"Community users" (anyone who does not fit the user guidelines above) may use the Computer Lab if space is available.

  • Hardware/Software Problems--If you suspect a computer or printer is not functioning properly or needs any attention, please notify a lab assistant or lab staff. Do not attempt to correct any such problems yourself.
  • Closing times--The Lab closes promptly at the times posted. Begin wrapping up your work about five minutes before closing. No one may remain in the Lab after closing.
  • Access to staff items--Only lab staff have access to the lab staff desks, cabinets, and computers.
  • Software--Copying licensed software from any machines is illegal and will not be permitted. Do not install any software.
  • Phone Usage--Lab users who need to use the courtesy phone for a brief URGENT call should ask first.
  • Pornography/Offensive Material--Displaying or printing this type of material is not allowed in the Lab.
  • Bad Weather--In case of bad weather involving hazardous traveling conditions, the Lab will be closed. When there is nearby lightning, the staff will decide when to shut down the computer Lab.
