SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES –
Computer Lab workers must assure efficient and professional delivery
of lab services to students, faculty and staff by being responsible
employees and working as a team with the Computer Lab Facilitator, Lab
Supervisor, and other Student Employees.
ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS
- Monitor computer lab during the hours assigned
to work, making sure that your availability and willingness to help
are clearly evident to lab users.
- Assist lab users as needed, in launching and
using software, getting printers to work, etc.
- Ensure that the lab users follow procedures.
- Monitor paper supply in all printers.
- Inform the lab staff if equipment is
malfunctioning.
- Clean computers, printers, and work areas on a
regular basis.
- Answer telephone when the lab staff is
unavailable.

Lock the lab if closing on solo
shift.
- Maintain skills in software taught by
computing instructors.
- Remain current with latest Details and
Procedures as posted on the Lab Work-Study site.
Maintain College Office Safety
to ensure that all filing cabinet drawers are shut when not in use,
cords are not across floor without being securely fastened down, all
walkways remain clear in the office an hallway with no items hanging
off edges or coming out from under the tables. That chairs are placed
within any office equipment area so as not to accidentally damage
equipment.
COMMUNICATIONS Acts to facilitate
good communication between employees, customers and management through
interpersonal and professional communication techniques.
CONFIDENTIALLY Maintain the highest
level of confidence concerning all matters in the computer lab. Does
not discuss in any manner any information obtained through work in the
computer lab.
OTHER FUNCTIONS

Other duties as assigned.

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related
results as needed.
·
Maintain University safety rules.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Knowledge of computer operations relevant to the lab
environment, or outstanding willingness and ability to acquire such
knowledge quickly.

Strong interpersonal skills
·
Ability to work as a team member with lab staff and
other student employees. Work consistently at scheduled times.

long as safety is followed in keeping power cords fastened to floors,
